Just the bait if you’re losing weight, the award-winning chippy is helping out dieters this summer by offering a meal that is under 400 calories and ‘sin free’. Launching the ‘Sin Free Supper’ this June, the low-calorie meal option will be available at both the Cheltenham and Stroud shops just in time for World Bikini Day on 5th July.
From this month, dieters will be able to enjoy an oven-baked or steamed fish of their choice with mushy peas and a side salad, all for under 400 calories per serving, making it a fantastic fast food option for people wanting that beach ready body.
Development chef and co-founder Bonny Ritchie, said: “We are constantly striving to keep this British classic as inclusive as possible, already offering vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options, and with approximately two thirds of Brits being on a diet at any one time, we thought it was about time to include options for customers watching their weight. Although a portion of our chips is still less calories than the average high street sandwich, this meal means that our customers can still enjoy Simpsons and stick to their diet plan.”
In the quest for that beach ready body, research has shown that nearly two thirds of Brits are on a diet at any one time. Simpsons believe that dieters shouldn’t miss out on their favourite fast food and so created the Sin Free Supper to aid people in their quest to feel more confident about themselves.
World Bikini Day (July 5th) celebrates the invention of the two piece swimming costume in 1946 by French fashion designer, Louis Reard. It urges anyone to don a bikini and head to the nearest beach or failing that, paddling pool, and enjoy the day soaking up the sun and relaxing.
Simpsons Fish and Chips is a renowned pioneer in the fish and chip shop industry. Last year their vegan menu was applauded by PETA and both branches are MSC certified. In January 2016, they were named the Best Independent Takeaway Fish & Chip Shop in England at the National Fish & Chip Awards.
