Over 120 staff from a leading Gloucestershire FMCG company will undertake a virtual cycle challenge to raise funds for Macmillan Cancer Support.

A team from SHS’s offices in Gloucester will go head to head with colleagues who work in Belfast. Each team will undertake a virtual cycle from Belfast to Gloucester, which is approximately 360 miles.  The challenge will start at 5.30am with organisers hoping the teams will have covered the distance by 5.30pm.

Group Director Karen Salters, who is based at SHS’s offices in Gloucester, said:  We are delighted that so many staff have signed up and are willing to put their pedal power to the test to raise vital funds for Macmillan Cancer Support.  I would like to say thank-you to everyone who is taking part and to those who have already donated.  This event is one of the biggest health and wellbeing challenges that the SHS Group has undertaken and staff who are not cycling will enter into the spirit of the event, wearing something green on the day, to encourage their colleagues who are pedalling.

“Staff at the SHS Group in Gloucester have already raised over £8,000 for Macmillan Cancer Support  and over £17,000 across both sites.”

Prizes will be presented to the team who completes the 360-mile distance first. Special awards will also be made to staff that achieve personal bests or show real stamina and commitment during the challenge.
