Cheltenham's famous Daffodil Restaurant is delighted to announce the appointment of Darren Leonard to the position of General Manager.
Darren, who joined The Daffodil just before Christmas, is working alongside Managing Director Mark Stephens in overseeing the restaurant itself, as well as assisting with the opening of the restaurant’s brand new delicatessen, The Chef’s Pantry, which is due to open in April.
Food retail and restaurant management run deep in Darren’s professional heritage. He joined The Daffodil having spent many years overseeing retail and service operations at Three Choirs Vineyard, near Newent.
His appointment as the new General Manager marks a return for Darren to The Daffodil. Before making the move into restaurant management, Darren was Head Chef at The Daffodil from 1998 until 2000 where he worked alongside Mark Stephens when the restaurant first opened.
Speaking of his appointment, Darren said: “I’m so pleased to be returning to The Daffodil, a restaurant which I love to the core. As the former Head Chef and a lover of unique retail and dining experiences, I can say with confidence that I am absolutely delighted to be back within the Daffodil family.”
As well as spending 11 years at The Three Choirs Vineyard, Darren brings a wealth of hospitality management knowledge from his roles held at the Crispy Duck Restaurant in Cardiff, No Ordinary Hotels in Coombe Abbey & Lumley Castle Hotel, Café Royal, London and The QE2.
