Long lazy Sunday lunches are a forte of The Montpellier Chapter. The top Cheltenham hotel has introduced a Chef’s Table to its already immensely popular Sunday Lunch.
Diners can graze from a selection of unlimited hors d’oeuvres featuring artisan breads and cheeses, pâtés and terrines, field fresh salads and hand-carved meats.
Hotel Manager Racheal Bird said: “Sunday is a day for quality time with those close to us. Here at The Montpellier Chapter our Sunday lunches are a hugely popular family affair with diners joining us to share great food in great company. We’re thrilled to be adding a touch of culinary theatre to the restaurant each Sunday with the introduction of our new Chef’s Table. This will enable our guests to graze late into the afternoon as the conversation and wine flows - exactly what Sundays are all about!”
Each Sunday, The Chef’s Table will offer a seasonal spread featuring hand carved Serrano ham, authentic Mediterranean chorizo, varied bespoke salads, smooth pâtés and hearty terrines, with chunks of freshly baked artisan breads and dressings.
Following a feast from the Chef’s Table, diners can enjoy traditional seasonal Roasts. Prime Rib of Black Angus Beef served with homemade thyme and rosemary Yorkshire puddings. Normandy corn-fed chicken with Cranberry stuffing and jus also prove popular choices. Both are served with honey-glazed parsnips, carrots, buttered greens and of course a generous helping of crispy roast potatoes.
For those with room to spare for something sweet, a scrumptious selection of puddings will be on offer. Warm Valrhona Chocolate and Cardamom Pudding with Cherry Sorbet, Fruit Crumble du Joir with lashings of Custard, Sticky Toffee Pudding and a Classic Vanilla Crème Brûlée are on the menu.
The Chef’s Table Sunday Lunch is available every Sunday. Places are priced at £21.95 per person and £9.95 for children under 12. For more information and to book, visit www.themontpellierchapter.com or call 01242 420164.
