FANS of best-selling cookery author and TV chef Simon Hopkinson will be able to enjoy a dinner with the man himself when he visits Cheltenham on November 1.
Simon, who has a close affinity with The Montpellier Chapter, will be hosting an evening soiree at the town centre hotel for people who want to hear more about his very distinct cooking style.
The “One Night Only…with Simon Hopkinson” event will see the Good Cook share the stage with The Montpellier Chapter Head Chef Gary Wheeler. Together the pair will entertain diners with their anecdotes of kitchen life and share an array of professional tips. The evening will be hosted by Woman & Home Editor Jane Curran.
Guests will enjoy a three course menu and have chance to try some of Simon’s favourite dishes – many of which appeared on his recent More4 series, Simon Hopkinson Cooks.
Head Chef Gary Wheeler said: “Simon is renowned for creating simple, seasonal and classic British dishes, using excellent produce and whenever possible, local ingredients. We are absolutely delighted that he has agreed to do an evening at the hotel. He is such a character and a gentleman – and a chef who just oozes knowledge and charisma. He very rarely does events like this so it is a real honour that he has agreed to come to Cheltenham.”
Simon has been working with Gary Wheeler for some time. The pair have become close friends and Simon regularly mentors Gary, focusing on the diner's perspective and experience, while also advising on taste, texture and flavours.
Simon Hopkinson is famous for his best-selling “Roast Chicken and Other Stories” recipe book, his BBC One series “The Good Cook” and his latest More4 series “Simon Hopkinson Cooks.”
As founder and co-owner of Bibendum restaurant in London, Simon has added his culinary flair to all Chapter Hotels' restaurants, inspiring both Gary at The Montpellier Chapter and his colleague Ben Bulger, who is Head Chef at The Magdalen Chapter in Exeter.
Tickets for “One Night Only with Simon Hopkinson” are priced at £65. This will include a four course feast with accompanying wine. The evening starts at The Montpellier Chapter at 7pm.
