Herefordshire will come to the fore at this year’s premier livestock event as Herefordshire adopts the role of Host County. In celebration of this exciting year for Herefordshire, Champion Hereford Bull Ronald came together with a collection of representatives from the county as they paid homage to the show’s Herefordshire heritage, standing just footsteps away from where the Society was founded in 1797.

Ken Nottage, CEO of the Three Counties, said: “This year is a truly exciting year for Herefordshire as we showcase the bountiful offering the county contributes to the farming and lifestock worlds. The Three Counties Agricultural Society is deeply rooted in Herefordshire and it was an immense pleasure to return to where it all began, taking with us Ronald, an impressive representative of Weston Ciders Bounds Herd and the finest in agriculture. 2016 is to be a momentous year for the Royal Three Counties Show as we also welcome HRH Princess Royal and The Kings Troop Royal Horse Artillery. We cannot wait to share the show with our great many visitors as we open the gates in June.”

The signature event of the Three Counties Agricultural Society champions the ultimate in agriculture and is the country’s premier livestock show. Each June, the Royal Three Counties Show celebrates a pedigree of British farming, alongside fine food and family entertainment. Title sponsors for this year’s event is Herefordshire based, Lister Group. Champion Bull Ronaldo is from the Westons Cider Bounds Polls Hereford herd and is 5 years old.

The Very Reverend Michael Tavinor Dean of Hereford Cathedral, said: “It’s a real pleasure for Hereford Cathedral to host the launch of what is a landmark event in the county’s calendar. Agriculture is at the heart of Herefordshire and we are proud to have such a thriving farming community. I must say Ronaldo has to be one of our most unusual visitors to the cathedral, but what better way to celebrate the fantastic show we have on our doorsteps. Herefordshire will be bringing a spectacle of all things great and small to this year’s Royal Three Counties Show.”

The Royal Three Counties Show will take place from Friday 17 June until Sunday 19 June 2016. Tickets are now on sale. Advanced adult tickets are priced from £18 and from £16 for Three Counties members. Family and childrens tickets are also available and tickets can be purchased on the gate.
